There are many other ways you can help the students of the NRMS Band!
Volunteer for events as a chaperone
Donate your time during the week to help in the classroom (no music experience needed - just e-mail Ms. Shadman)
Help with equipment repair and maintenance (for example, tightening loose stands with a wrench or spray painting them to look new!)
Donate financially to help students in need of financial aid for instrument rental or private lessons.
Most importantly....
Encourage your child when they practice and in their commitment to musical performance! Ask them to play for you. Praise them for their effort, dedication, persistence, grit and progress!
Don't make them play in the garage or tell them they're noisy! Young musicians can be very self-conscious - they need words of praise. Learning to play an instrument is a long, often frustrating process! Be their cheerleader!
